June Coffee of the Month: Costa Rica – Finca Amistad

This medium roast features a delightful cup profile with sweet berry brightness, subtle citrus and herbal notes, a smooth creamy body, and a rich chocolate brownie finish. Grown at elevations between 1,200 and 1,500 meters above sea level, this coffee is produced from Caturra and Catuai varieties and benefits from the region's fertile volcanic loam soils. The beans are fully washed and carefully sun-dried to highlight their clean, balanced character.

Finca Amistad is owned and operated by third-generation coffee farmer Roberto Montero, whose family's legacy is deeply connected to conservation and sustainable agriculture. The farm sits alongside one of Central America's most important protected natural areas, surrounded by lush forests and abundant wildlife. Roberto has dedicated much of his land to preserving the natural environment while cultivating exceptional organic coffee.

Beyond producing outstanding coffee, Finca Amistad is committed to supporting the local community. The farm provides employment opportunities for local residents and seasonal workers, helping support families throughout the region. Through initiatives that include housing assistance, access to healthcare, educational support, and employee recognition programs, Roberto and his team have created a farm culture built on respect, opportunity, and community.
